Every interaction is a transaction. Every interaction with someone else ends up in either a deposit or a withdrawal. Too often I thoughtlessly interact with others not realizing a transaction is taking place. Instead of making a withdrawal by eroding trust or restricting open and honest dialogue, I think our goal should be to make a deposit. Deposits come in many forms. The most basic are showing respect and giving honor. Even in the most difficult situations when we show respect and give honor we are building trust and creating relationships where others feel safe. If we make enough ‘deposits’, a ‘withdrawal’ here and there won’t bankrupt the relationship. I’m trying to remember that every interaction is a transaction. Give it a try. Go make some deposits.

So true. I especially see this in my relationship with students.
I'm glad we were able to have a transaction yesterday... conversations like that get me excited...
You're awesome, Scotty Rock!
No Anna, you're awesome! The conversation we all had yesterday was a TRANSACTION OF PASSION that will hopefully lead to some WORLD CHANGING ACTION. How's that for some tacky but true stuff?
